Adelaide Oval is widely regarded as the most pictureque Test Cricket ground in the world. The ground was established following the formation of the South Australian Cricket Association (SACA) in 1871, with a playing arena of 191 x 127 metres.

Since 1871 Adelaide Oval's playing arena has had no major work performed on the grounds.
